Your Journey to Self-Discovery
Starts Here
Sometimes life throws us a curveball. Sometimes everyday events can feel unmanageable. Sometimes emotions can be overwhelming and seemingly triggered from nowhere.
We all have a story, a background that influences the way we see the world and react to external stimuli. These reactions may not always be comfortable, logical, or even appropriate to the situations in which we find ourselves on any given day.
When life leaves you overwhelmed, exhausted, helpless or confused, it’s OK to reach out and ask for help
No one person can be equipped to effectively handle every situation that lands on their doorstep, and that is exactly where psychotherapy and counselling can help.
About Dave
I am a post-graduate qualified and pre-accredited UKCP Psychotherapist offering Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy to my clients in Altrincham.
Transactional Analysis is a theory of Personality and Communication. It seeks to help us understand why we think, feel and behave in the way we do in relation to the world around us.
Transactional Analysis can help with;
Anxiety and Depression
Stress and Overwhelm
Addictive Behaviours
Interpersonal Relationships
Feeling Stuck or Lost
Overthinking and Repetitive Behaviour Patterns
Through understanding and building a relationship with the subconscious parts of ourselves, we can take control of how we react to the world around us.
Whatever it is that you bring to me, however you may feel, you will be met with warmth, compassion and empathy. I aim to create a nurturing environment where my clients can feel safe to be themselves. Only through authenticity can we sow the seeds for change.

How It Works.
In our first meeting I will take time to understand exactly where you are at on an emotional level, what has led you to seek therapy and what you would like to achieve. We will then form a contract for change based on positive, identifiable and measurable outcomes.
Through gentle, targeted enquiry, I will help you form an deeper understanding of your situation and why it is impacting you in the the way it is. If appropriate, I will introduce you to relevant theory to help you gain insight into the patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving which led you to be where you are today.
As you develop a deeper understanding of self, we can start to name and nurture a compassionate relationship with the parts of your personality you would like to build on.
We will devise mechanisms for change and you can begin to implement them in day to day life, remembering that if you experience internal backlash, or resistance from others, that we can use this feedback in our sessions to further enhance your emotional intelligence and resilience.
Once the targeted change in thinking, feeling or behaving has been achieved, and you are comfortable that it can be sustained, our contract is complete and we can end our sessions. You can come back at anytime should the need arise.
“I want to say thank you to Dave, for all the support over the last six months. I feel like I have a new perspective on life and I leave our sessions feeling incredibly optimistic, and generally stronger than ever before.”

Your Questions, Answered
How do I know which service is right for me?
I offer every new client a complimentary consultation where I seek to establish exactly where things stand on an emotional level and what your goals from and preferences for therapy are. I pride myself on transparency and clear communication. If I am not the right therapist for you, or I feel I know someone better suited to your needs, I will let you know.
How Long Does It Take
There is not set timeframe for how long therapy can last, but anywhere from 6 sessions to 6 months can be expected as normal. It depends on what you want to gain from therapy, how deep you are willing to work and if, on completion of the initial contract, there are any further issues you would like to look at.
How Much Does It Cost
I offer 50min sessions, in person or online for £50/session from 28 High Street, Altrincham, WA14 1QP. Discounted rates may be available for Students and those on a low income.
Can sessions be conducted remotely?
Yes. Whilst I encourage clients to attend in-person, I also understand that this is not always possible. I offer secure video conferencing and phone options in addition to in-person meetings, ensuring you receive consistent support wherever you are.
Is therapy for me?
Therapy offers a confidential space to discuss whatever it is that may be bothering you. Any topic is a good topic. If it is having an impact on your quality of life, it is worth sharing. There is no threshold for suffering, there is no judgement,
